Proven by independent accreditation
Knowing that your products are tested, certified, and proven is vital to confidence in delivery. All our timber frame systems, including our Sigma® II closed panel and Sigma® Zero ranges, hold recognised industry accreditations that demonstrate excellence in design, manufacture, and installation.
The Buildoffsite Property Assurance Scheme (BOPAS) provides long-term confidence in durability and integrity. It validates our processes for design, manufacture, and on-site installation, guaranteeing a 60-year design life for our closed panel timber frame systems.
For developers, lenders, and housing providers, BOPAS+ accreditation removes risk and confirms that our systems are fit for modern housebuilding.
The British Board of Agrément (BBA) verifies that our systems meet the highest standards of technical compliance, durability, and fire safety. A BBA Agrément Certificate is a mark of excellence — independent proof that every product performs exactly as designed.
We’re also proud holders of the Structural Timber Association’s STA Assure Gold standard — the highest level of industry quality assurance. Together, these certifications demonstrate total reliability from factory to foundation.

All of our timber frame systems are NHBC Accepts approved, meaning they’re fully compatible with NHBC Buildmark warranties.

Building confidence through precision, consistency, and proof
At Donaldson Timber Systems, quality isn’t a claim, it’s a commitment. Every system we design, manufacture, and install is backed by independent certification, automated precision, and a legacy of reliability built over 50 years in timber frame construction.
Our goal is simple: to deliver timber frame solutions you can trust, systems that meet building regulations, exceed performance targets, and support the UK’s journey toward net zero and Future Homes Standard compliance.
Automation, robotics, and factory precision
Our offsite automated manufacturing facilities are transforming how homes are built.
Through advanced robotics, digital design, and automated assembly lines, we achieve:
-
Unrivalled precision: every panel engineered to exact tolerances.
-
Consistent quality: the same high standard, every time.
-
Improved safety: manufacturing in a controlled environment reduces site risk.
-
Faster delivery: automated production supports just-in-time installation.
-
Lower embodied carbon: optimised processes reduce waste and resource use.
Automation ensures that every Sigma® system leaves our factory with performance built in — not added later.

Reliability and performance, proven head-to-head
Housebuilders, contractors, affordable housing providers and Local Councils choose us because we deliver consistent quality, dependable service, and measurable results.
In independent comparisons, our closed panel timber frame systems outperform traditional construction in speed, energy efficiency, and cost predictability, without compromising durability or compliance.

Quality that supports sustainability
Every one of our timber frame systems is designed for long-term performance and low-carbon delivery. Our closed panel solutions offer high Pre-Manufactured Value (PMV) and airtight fabric performance, contributing directly to lower operational emissions and reduced energy use.
By investing in automation, robust quality control, and third-party verification, we help our customers meet their Future Homes Standard and net zero goals — with proven data to back it up.

Skills, training, and continuous improvement
We don’t just maintain high standards, we build them.
Through our partnership with GRASSP, the construction industry online training hub, and our internal BOOST learning and development programme, we invest in the skills and competence of our people and partners.
This ensures every system is designed, manufactured, and installed to the same exacting level of quality.
